Your Student Is Ready for More Independence.
College students, and even high school upperclassmen, have more freedom—and a lot more responsibility. Semester Support gives your student a licensed teacher in their corner to help them stay organized, accountable, and moving forward throughout the semester.
Taking Over
Why Semester Support Matters
You know your student is capable. But managing college responsibilities independently can be a big adjustment.
Syllabi, assignments, deadlines, projects, emails, campus resources—when everything starts competing for their attention, it's easy for a student to lose track of what needs to happen next.
And it's easy for parents to get pulled back into the role of daily project manager.
Semester Support provides a practical safety net—a trusted educator who helps your student organize what's ahead, prioritize what matters, and stay accountable for following through.
So your student gets the support they need to keep moving—and you get to step out of the daily management role.
How Semester Support Works
Semester Support combines practical college planning with regular accountability to help students manage the demands of the semester with greater confidence and independence.
A Licensed Teacher
Your student is paired with a current or former educator who understands the academic environment and knows how to help students navigate real college responsibilities.
A Clear Plan
We start by reviewing the student's syllabi and learning management system, identifying major assignments, tests, projects, and deadlines, and creating a practical plan for the semester.
Consistent Follow-Through
Regular check-ins help students stay connected to that plan, address roadblocks, and identify what needs to happen next.
The goal isn't to manage college for your student. It's to help them learn to manage it themselves.
Exactly What Your Student Gets
Semester Support gives students practical tools, personalized support, and consistent accountability throughout the academic term.
Syllabus & LMS Strategy Session
A dedicated 90–120 minute session to review courses, syllabi, the learning management system, major assignments, tests, projects, and deadlines—and turn them into an actionable semester plan.
24 Flexible Check-In Sessions
Up to 30 minutes each, used throughout the semester for accountability, planning, prioritization, and problem-solving. Students can use sessions based on what they need, including additional support during busy periods such as midterms or major project deadlines.
A Licensed Teacher Match
Your student is paired with a current or former educator based on their needs, interests, and academic environment.
Custom Scheduling & Reminder Systems
Electronic and/or paper-based systems designed around the student's preferences, routines, and lifestyle.
Learning Profile Assessments
VARK and VIA Character Strengths—or similar assessments—can help identify learning preferences, strengths, and sources of motivation.
The Curated "Brain Kit"
A personalized digital resource collection for the semester, including relevant tools, TED Talks, and selected BES resources aligned with the student's short-term goals.
Who Is Semester Support For?
Semester Support is designed for college students who are capable of taking responsibility for their education but benefit from additional structure, accountability, and practical guidance.
Support for students who are ready for independence—and still benefit from someone in their corner.
The Capable but Disorganized Student
They understand the material and can do the work—but keeping track of everything, prioritizing tasks, and managing competing deadlines can be difficult.
The Student Adjusting to Independence
College brings more freedom and fewer built-in reminders. They are ready to take ownership but may need some structure while they learn how to manage that independence.
The Student Who Knows What to Do—But Struggles to Follow Through
They may know exactly what needs to happen but struggle with getting started, staying on track, or following through consistently.
The Student Who Wants Practical Support
They don't necessarily need intensive coaching. They benefit from a knowledgeable educator who can help them make a plan, troubleshoot challenges, and figure out what comes next.
The Parent Who Wants to Step Back
You know your student is capable, but you're tired of being the one tracking assignments, sending reminders, checking portals, and asking, “Did you do it?” Semester Support gives you permission to step out of that daily management role.
Which Support Is Right for Your Student?
Every student doesn't need the same kind of support. For some students, the biggest challenge is managing the demands of the semester—keeping track of what's due, creating a plan, following through, and knowing where to turn when they hit a roadblock. For others, recurring challenges may point to a need for deeper executive-function skill development and individualized coaching. That's why BES offers two distinct approaches.
Practical Accountability for Managing the Semester
Structure, planning, regular check-ins, and practical support.
Semester Support helps students manage the practical demands of college by creating structure, organizing responsibilities, staying accountable, and navigating academic logistics.
